Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for the lives lost due to the Boston Marathon bombing and for the families who are grieving. I wish a speedy recovery for those injured both physically and emotionally. Through the worst, we also saw the best people have to offer and come together as a community.
Communities are built by coming together to learn how to better care for ourselves and for others. It is the reason we come together in groups to give each other support. It is not just made up by specific towns but by bonds made to our neighbors in times of need and in times of celebration. Communities create strength to help us carry on and live in peace.
I am not originally from this city but I have adopted Boston as my home. I have built my own community here of friends, coworkers, and areas that I love to visit. Everytime I come into the the city, the skyline makes me feel strong and inspired. I have lived and worked here for over 10 years and plan to stay indefinitely.
I have become Boston Proud and Boston Strong!

Double Standards (This blog is about boobs)
I recently found out that an "unedited" movie means "there will be lots of boobs." Not boobs as in funny comedic people but boobs as in the female body part that men obsess over. In the last lead male comedy I watched (The Change Up) there were at least 5-6 pairs of boobs and one female ass. Not once in the entire movie did I see either male role without clothing, not even a bare chest (and it had Ryan Reynolds for Pete's sake!)!!!
I find this to be sexist and discriminating! Why should men be allowed the pleasure of naked women on screen but women get nothing??? A bare manly chest- that's all I'm asking for. (Get your minds out of the gutter!) Perhaps women would not be able to control themselves at the sight of naked man parts? Could that be why? Or because it was a man-flick? All I'm sayin' is there should be equality in nakedness in movies for men and women. Even in "chick flicks" we don't see enough bare chests on men as women in any genre!
Ladies I say it's time to take a stand! Let's go to Hollywood and protest for better equality in movies! Let's see Ryan Reynolds without his shirt!

That's more like it! ;)

Testing Pens at Work.
Below you will read excerpts of phrases, quotes, and songs that I tested the quality of work pens with. I will only write the parts that showed up from the good pens. I found it amusing...feel free to come up with your own opinion but don't tell me if it's a bad one! ;)

Quality of Life
Sometimes I sit at my job and I ponder what "quality of life" means. When a woman in her 80's has a stroke and is now non-verbal, mostly paralyzed except for one arm, and needs 24/7 care what is her quality of life? Was it better for modern medicine to keep her alive? Did they know this would be the result? Is she hanging on because something in her is still alive and willing herself to live? Or is it just that her physical body is just doing its job? She cannot tell anyone if she is happy, sad, or in pain. She cannot say whether she is hungry or thirsty.
It is not my intention to sound morbid. Sometimes when I hear these stories from caregivers or meet with the elders I wonder these things. I certainly don't know the answers and am not going to pretend to be all high and mighty on moral issues. If I am thinking these things, what are the caregivers struggling to care for their loved ones thinking?
